A Montgomery County man, known only as “Double the Fun,” is living up to his nickname after winning a $46,849.50 prize on a Racetrax Trifecta Wheel bet—topping his first big win of $30,000 back in 2022.
His secret? Long-shot horses.
The Racetrax veteran has been betting on horses 10, 11, and 12 with hopes of hitting it big again.
This time, luck was on his side on Wednesday, March 6, when he played his favorite Trifecta Wheel bet at Olney Beer & Wine and watched as his picks raced across the finish line in perfect order.
“I figured, I’m going to play it for one last time,” he told Maryland Lottery officials.
Minutes later, sitting in his car, he was jumping up and down after realizing he’d just cashed in—again.
So what’s next for “Double the Fun”?
No wild spending sprees—he plans to save some, share some with his daughter and grandkids, and treat himself to a seafood feast.
Meanwhile, the store that sold him the winning ticket, Olney Beer & Wine, gets a $468.49 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for its role in the big win.
With two major wins in three years, this Racetrax regular is proving that sometimes, the long shots pay off—twice.
